She’s right. It SHOULD be.
yup.
Sign of crappy game design.
Generally speaking, a game not making victory trivially easy for one side and nearly impossible for the other is not “crappy game design”.
Its crappy game design when you have a method to detect the monster and yet you can’t test everyone with it. There are better games in this genre; deal with it.
Except, the monster is one of the players, and there’s this thing called “competitive balance”. You CAN test everyone with it, but the monster is going to do everything in their power to prevent that from happening and make you think it was someone else’s idea.
It CAN be that way, except that there’s no way of knowing who’s a verifiable ally. You take someone to the medbay and scan in front of them, and if it turns out they’re the impostor, you’re sitting there for about fifteen seconds solid and no one’s gonna find your body.
And even if everyone goes there at the same time after a meeting such as this one, the impostor can just set off a lethal sabotage, and at least two people have to go attend to it or the impostors automatically win.
When Benji and Kaya said “that’s not how the game works”, what they meant was “that’s an easy way to get everyone killed”.
Not true – if they move in groups, with at least impostor number”1, they can find the impostors quickly, if they try to do anything funny – in the group where someone gets killed, one of the remaining ones would be possibly an impostor. Throw them out – if the first one was part of the crew, then the other was an impostor. If the first one was an impostor, the other one can live, but do not let off the possibility, if it’s an impostor too (depending on the number of impostors). They could make a kill, then immediatly self-report themselves, to make the other crewmate suspicious too…
Neither role is easy, if played by an intelligent party (and not one, which plays by the “who’s name/color is yelled more aggressively” ‘rule’).
It’s “Among Us,” not “The Thing.”
Its “The Thing” IIINNN SPACE.
Now, lets talk about the bonus situation.
Bill: “The boner situation?”
Kevin: “Oh grow up, Corbett…”

we need the twins in the world of subnautica
Yes. Yes. So much yes.
Like seriously have them bump into a reaper leviathan or a crab squid or something would be really cool
Subnautica or Subnautica Below Zero? Because in SBZ there’s also Spiky Traps…otherwise known as “those hentai things that I wish I could feed a grenade.”
just regular subnautica
would be fun.. of course their world’s version would need to be co-op capable..
Panel 4: There should be a comma at the end of “Well”.
This is one of those things that doesn’t convey well to a webcomic medium. That’s not how the game works because communication is bull$#!+ in Among Us. You only get to talk in meetings, and then everyone’s much too busy trying to defend themselves and accusing discrepancies in-
WAAAAAIT. Kai said he was doing wires. But he verifies Benji’s scan, and Benji verifies his scan…
Benji, Nate, Kai, Kaya, Rex, Cleo, Alex – that’s seven people, that’s enough for two Impostors.
…Miittsukketa
That’s what I was going to say, they “confirm” each other being scanned, nobody suspects them, cue the kill animations…
…Just as long as none of them involve getting roasted. That would narrow the field a lot. And if they get Imposter Kai, then that blows Imposter Benji’s cover too…
…Alright, Daniel the Human worked all that out, and I….borrowed it…
Wow. Nice to see this after so long.
Nice costumes and background!
I am amused that on the one hand, they are doing the “Discuss” part of the game quite correctly and well. On the other hand, this particular “Discuss” is discussing the -game- itself and not the question of “WHODUNNIT??”
I’m also noticing that Kai is being quite a good “Leader” here. He might make a good second to Rex, and maybe even a replacement once Rex graduates. 🙂
Cleo wasn’t actually playing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was her. XD;
My other guess is Kaya.
Cleo: About to go do my tasks, get this victory, and then this girl asks:
Kaya: Hey, why you following me?
Cleo: Coz you might be the killer! There’s vibes that I’m getting! Girl, just do your tasks! Wait, they’re probably killing! But anyways, I think-
Kaya: You kinda sus, my guy!
Cleo: Who, me?
Kaya: Yeah, I bet you got a rusty knife!
Cleo: Nah!
Kaya: You just wanna stab me in the guts! I don’t trust you! You must be the impostor! Cut the lies, I don’t believe you! You got blood-lusting eyes!
Cleo: No, really, girl, I’m just trying to fix the wires!
Kaya: Sure! I know you can’t wait until the lights go out, coz when it gets dark, that’s when the knives come out!
Cleo: Okay, we’re in electric, they go out, I’ll fix it! But coming at me? I’ll eject you with quickness!
{Kai rises behind Cleo}
Kaya: Hey, watch out behind you!
{Benji rises behind Kaya}
Cleo: Hey, watch out behind you!
{cut to black}
Dead Kaya & Dead Cleo: Wow, we got double-killed, never mind dude.
Orange is sus…
“Hah! I knew it was you, the body scan proved it!”
“What? Impossible!”
“No, it is certain! You see…when you used the body scanner…you scanned someone else’s body!”
“Someone else’s “dead” body.” 😉
Among Us is a good game, however i often find a bit short the time, what was given to discuss the murders. I like brand people as suspicious not based on “what name was said faster” or simply “i doesn’t like that player, so i will vote against it”, but more facts. Like if two player say they are both safe, but there is two impostor in the game, is still doesn’t gave them any credibility, unless there is a third person state the same thing!
Also, once i was able to get the team’s trust, after logically pointed out one of the impostors, then they begun to throw out each others. Of course, i was the other impostor, and in the end, we won the game. 😀
So how come Kaya and Kai have reptilian eyes, but other characters like Cleo have human eyes?
For that matter, why is Cleo the only hybrid with human-like facial features?
I think, it’s depends on the hybrid. The genetics of hybrids are usually unique, so you might see a character with pretty much human appearance, but with four arms and bug-like eyes, while there is another one, who has chitin armor and mandibles, but otherwise human-looking…
In genetics, it’s called penetrance. The trait is inherited, but isn’t expressed completely. A dog hybrid, for example, could resemble Benji or Inuyasha.
